Our private 4WD hire option is a great way to see Fraser Island at your own pace. Hire one of our 80 series Toyota Land Cruisers and we will help plan your itinerary so that you can make the most of your time on Fraser Island.
As we are also a tour operator ourselves you can be assured that the advice and planning we implement will ensure you have a safe and unforgettable experience.
We recommend at least 3 days to see most of the highlights on the island but understand that not all people have this amount of time or money, so whatever your time frame we can help plan your adventure!
Our vehicles are based in Rainbow Beach, with an easy access point to Fraser Island at Inskip point, we are only a 10-minute drive, there is no need to pre-book the Ferry, just wait for it to arrive, every 10 minutes in peak periods and away you go!
If you have a vehicle that you need to leave in Rainbow Beach while you are on your adventure, we can arrange safe secured parking for you at no extra cost.
Please be aware that your ability to drive on the beach is determined by the tides,this will affect vehicle collection and return times and you itinerary for your hire, we will advise you of these times at the time of booking.

Strictly 2 Days minimum hire for all Fraser Island Adventures
1 Day hire is limited to the Cooloola Recreational Area only
You must be a minimum of 21 Years of age to hire a 4WD with a full open drivers’ licence
A deposit of 1 Day’s Vehicle hire will be required at the time of booking

WHAT IS INCLUDED
An exceptionally reliable 80 series Toyota Land Cruiser, they built these guys tough and as they are automatic, making it easier to navigate through the sand, without the stress of having to change gears! Our Vehicles have been given a full service and professionally cleaned prior to your pickup. A maximum of 5 people per vehicle to allow for your gear.
Customised Itinerary depending on the current tides and the number of hire days you choose we will help you plan a customised itinerary to suit you! ensuring a safe and unforgettable experience. This includes a map of Fraser Island.
Beach driving video & driving demo, after watching a beach driving video and completing the paperwork, we will take you for a short drive to run through the correct procedures in driving our 4wd’s on the beach to help make the most of your Island time. Then its time to hand the Vehicle over to you to pack your gear and prepare for your adventure!
Secure Vehicle parking in Rainbow Beach is complimentary if you need to leave your car with us while on your Fraser Island Adventure.

Return barge ticket to Fraser Island $130
Vehicle access permit $52.75, this is to access Fraser Island. The vehicle access for Cooloola Recreational Area only is lower and details can be found here.
Fuel – Vehicle is full on pick-up, to be refuelled before returning Vehicle.
Underbody Car Wash in Rainbow Beach on return from your Adventure $15.
OPTIONAL HIRE EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE
Maxtrax Hire, $20 per day.
Camping Equipment if required, $25 per person. Includes a tent, sleeping bag and roll mat, pillow, table, chair, cooler box, gas cooker, 10 litre water container and all cooking equipment.
ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
Adventure Beach Camping – Camping along the beach on Fraser Island is an amazing experience, this costs $6.55 per person per night and must be pre-booked before arrival.
Camping without your tent option – Prefer to have a cabin style tent set up ready to go with real beds! sleeps 2 people for just $65 per night and upto 5, all you need to do is pull up and crack a beverage! Situated at Cathedrals on Fraser and subject to availability. They have a full camp kitchen set up, with undercover communal areas and fantastic amenities, real flushing toilets and hot showers, perfect for an overnight stay, less time setting up = more time to explore!
Glamping Camping Option – If you prefer to have the option of a hot shower and flushing toilets at night, a shop close by for a real morning coffee we would recommend staying at Cathedrals on Fraser, starting from just $15 per person per night it is definitely worth it! They have a full camp kitchen set up, with undercover communal areas and fantastic amenities, real flushing toilets and hot showers, no matter what the weather you will be comfortable.

As we also operate our own tag-along tours from Rainbow Beach to Fraser Island, if you are a single traveller this may be a more cost effective option for you, or maybe if you are a larger group and would like the guided tour experience but to have a go at 4WDriving yourself let us know as we have 2 and 3 Day Packages available where all you have to do is just pack your clothes and jump in!
